Good news/bad news.

Looking to save some money, by optimizing my utilities and accounts and so I call up my insurance to see what dropping the comprehensive coverage for the Cruiser would save me. I’m thinking; Its an old vehicle, expensive parts, I’ve already been in one at fault accident, this is going to save me like $600 a year which is an extra $50 a month for things and stuff.

Ah...nope. $8 a month saved. My current total insurance cost for the truck is $14 a month so it would go down to $6 a month. I know every little bit helps and all but...that’s a great deal on coverage.

So bad news is that there is no easy money to free up in insurance.

Good news is that Insurance just isn’t costing me that much money full stop.

Have an HZJ-80 for your time.

$14/mth is $168 a year...so did you expect insurance to run you negative $432 per year??

But that’s ridiculously cheap. Even my truck with no collision or comp, driven less than 1000 miles a year, is still $50/mth.

To be fair, I wasn’t sure what my premiums were for the cruiser alone, Its all lumped together with my other car and a couple of homes.

That’s a nice problem to have. My old truck costs ~$120/month to insure. That’s with no tickets/accidents/etc.

My situation is fairly similar. Comprehensive for my ‘93 F150 is like $18 a month. I kept getting told by the insurance companies quoting me that they generally don’t do comprehensive for old vehicles, but for $18 a month I feel like I almost have to.

Thank you for reminding me to call my insurance company to remove the fj60 I sold last week. Probably would have let that one sit there for a long time (I’m dumb)
